This Is Not Necessarily A Poem. It Is A Fictitious, Reality Based, Stream Of Thoughts With The Longest Title Ever.

My daughter rides her bike to school

This little kid wants to ride her bicycle

He says he thinks her bike is cool

“I’d like to ride your bicycle”

These kids, these days, their metaphors

He wants my daughter for sex

Kids these days and their metaphors

Sex, as opposed to riding her ‘Bmx’

She comes home crying, she’s sixteen

Almost gang raped by six teens

Who know nothing but six things:

Women, weed, wine, sex, cum and sick things

My nosy neighbour says-“It’s her dressing”

“Her gowns are too short”

“This ought to be a lesson

Of what to wear not”

“Who is at fault? -The indecent dresser? Or the one who rapes?

Rape has nothing to do with being seduced

No one asks for it, no one deserves it,

People are disturbed, well-dressed people have been raped too

Who’s more disturbing? The one who rapes? Or the one that justifies it? Both disgust me!” – I tell my nosy neighbour

My landlord is a Muslim who hates Christians

My neighbour is a Christian who hates Muslims

I’m late on my rent

I tell my Muslim landlord who hates Christians

That my Christian neighbour owes me money

He tells me not to worry

He owes my Christian neighbour money too

Ha! Life uh? Money keeps the peace till further notice

My friend’s son started smoking weed

He graduated to cocaine

My friend never did anything

‘It’s modern parenting to let these kids be”-he says

His son died of a meth overdose

Is it modern to let these kids die?

These are dark times; they have been for a while

These are dark days and they will last the night.

  2. Wow. Its such a small world. My friend told me about this post and I came to check it out and look through your blog and I find out that you are in the same school as me. Would say its a coincidence but I fail to believe that coincidences exist. Nice piece by the way

  3. Life is full of contradictions. Things are never really black and white . . . or are they? Actions have consequences, not always as simple as 1+1=2.

Great piece Tomi, got me thinking . . .
